MCAVHN partners with Mendo-Lake Alternative Service, Inc. in support of providing opportunities for persons who are court ordered to complete community service hours. A range of assignments are available which may include providing inventory supports for The Exchange (on-site syringe services program), assistance in property maintenance tasks, helping our team prep for and conduct outreach events in the community or assisting the team as they develop and hold annual agency events, like our primary fundraiser Event of the Heart.

Over the years many MCAHVN staff were initially introduced to the services provided by the agency through completing court ordered community service and later joined our team as employees.

Community Service Volunteers receive training and supervision, all hours served are tracked and service reports are shared with MLAS. Persons interested in providing community service at MCAVHN may reach out to Joe Ditto, Harm Reduction Program Manager at joe@mcavhncares.org.
