MCAVHN is committed to Harm Reduction Principles in addressing substance use disorder and is a stakeholder in addressing the negative consequences that the opioid and fentanyl epidemic has brought to Mendocino County and communities throughout. As a stakeholder, MCAVHN became a direct partner with the Community Overdose Prevention Effort (COPE), DHCS, and actively supports increasing Naloxone/Narcan saturation across the county, especially in areas with the heaviest burden of overdoses.
- Distribute Naloxone/ Narcan throughout Mendocino County.
- Provide Train the Trainer opportunities to agencies, faith-based communities, educators, students, first responders, tribal entities, and more.
- Provide opportunities for home hosted training (or anything like this) with Naloxone/Narcan provided to attendees for the purpose of widening the circle of persons prepared to respond to overdose.
